Following the earthquake of February 22nd we have decided to issue mobile phones to each of our centre directors in Christchurch. This will provide parents and staff with an additional avenue to contact the centre director, should the need arise.
Please make a note of the relevant number, add it to your contact list, address book and/or mobile phone. Each number will pertain to each specific centre.

Monday, 28 February, 4pm
The latest information from the Ministry of Education is still stating that early childhood centres will remain closed until further notice. We will update you if this situation changes.
Friday, 25 February, 5.23pm
With the state of emergency still in place and likely to continue into next week our centres are likely to remain closed next week. However, some of our centres have come through the earthquake remarkably well. So, following the required clearance from the Ministry of Education, it may be possible for some centres to re-open quickly. We will keep you informed about this.
Once the centres have been assessed early next week, we will be looking at contacting staff that are available, to come into the centres that have been checked, to do some clean up and tidying, in preparation for re-opening when we are cleared to do so. Your centre director will be in touch with you and again, please keep an eye on the website for further updates.
If the state of emergency is still in place and your centre remains closed for next week, all permanent staff and pre-booked relievers will be paid for the week ending Friday, 4th March.

Wednesday, 23 February, 4.40pm
With a national state of emergency declared, we confirm that all Kindercare centres will be closed at least until and including Friday, 25th February.
As staff are not required to be at your centre this week, you may want to take this opportunity to leave the city for a few days for your own well-being and that of your family.
Staff will continue to be paid for the time your centre is closed this week (Wednesday 23rd, Thursday 24th or Friday 25th February) and your annual leave entitlements will not be affected. Updates will be posted on the website and your centre director will be in contact with you to let you know when you will be expected back at your centre.
The safety and well-being of children, families and staff of our Kindercare community remain uppermost in our thoughts at this time.
