Kia Ora,

Welcome to Kindercare’s Private Kindergarten in Mairangi Bay! Our team of long serving Teachers work in partnership with you our parents and whānau, to foster a strong sense of belonging for tamariki in our care. We’re intentional about creating calm, nature-inspired play spaces within our generous sized environments where tamariki are safe, loved and learning.

Kaiako actively encourage children’s creativity and curiosity through a responsive inquiry-based curriculum where the focus is on fun. I take pride in it being a centre where kindness and second mile service is at the heart of all that we do. Rest assured, your precious child is in safe, loving hands.

We celebrate whānau because you matter, and we seek to be supportive and flexible to all families in or centre community. We are conveniently located for families in Mairangi Bay, Rosedale, Sunnynook, and Windsor. Please know that you are welcome anytime to visit and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Arohanui,
Jemma Smith

Why Choose Our Centre

Simply put, it’s because we offer outstanding early childhood care and learning. But here are a few other great reasons:

  • Our multicultural team will journey with you, nurturing your child through each stage of development, supporting them in preparation for school.
  • Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Maths) environment provides excellent learning opportunities for preschoolers as part of their preparation for school.
  • Our playgrounds are huge with plenty of room for imaginative play, discovery and building friendships. our gardens provide hands-on learning experiences for tamariki about where kai comes from and encourage healthy eating habits.
  • Each child to attend up to 20 hours per week, and this is covered under the 20 Hours ECE scheme that is funded by the government. Children aged 3–5 years are able to attend morning, afternoon or 9am-3pm sessions throughout the week.

About Our Care

This is a Sessional room for children to attend up to 20 hours per week. Children are able to attend morning, afternoon or 9am-3pm sessions throughout the week.

You will find that there are many ‘work’ stations set up to provide children with provocations for play. These provocations encourage children to critically think, enquire, problem solve and practice skills that they need when moving into the school environment. The tamariki are free to tinker and explore their beautifully set up environment.

Your child will benefit from hands-on learning, with real life experiences such as tending to our beautiful veggie garden, maintaining our worm farm, using sewing machines to sew their own designed clothes and cooking experiences. We also have lovely kai rituals throughout the day where children are able to sit, relax and chat with each other.

Parent partnership is important to us and the room has many parent events where you can share in your child’s learning and as well as meet other parents. We’d love to show you around this very special room, set up to inspire wonder and curiosity.
