Looking for childcare Wigram, daycare Wigram or preschool Wigram?

You'll find what you're looking for at Kindercare in Wigram Skies, which is in the dedicated and experienced hands of Sophie Ross, our centre director.

Sophie and her dedicated team will welcome your child and your family into an inclusive environment that recognises that when you choose childcare, it’s the loving relationships which are most important, as well as the setting.

Your family will want the assurance that your child is receiving the best possible care and education.

“It’s because our staff are happy, and love what they do – which is spending their days with children – that you’ll experience a “family-feel” in our centre,” says Sophie.

What We Offer
Our purpose-built centre opened in June 2015, with an architecturally designed floor layout selected to suit the needs of the children in our care.
The high mono-pitch roof creates a feel of openness and space in the entrance area as well as in the rooms.
As you walk through the inviting entrance, with soothing colours that create a warm welcome, you’ll notice the naturally lit hallway – made possible by floor to ceiling windows.
The centre is designed with four rooms, so that your child is cared for with other children of a similar age and stage of development.
You’ll find these rooms are therefore each resourced to best support the children in that room. Focus areas range from family corners, dress ups and books to construction resources and science tables.
Through play, your child will be involved in a range of activities (appropriate for each developmental stage), to build on and improve skills including: reflexes, vision, hearing, sensory awareness, spatial awareness, direction, midline, patterns, memory and visual discrimination.
Ensuring these critical foundations are laid in the early years, enables your child to achieve greater success in formal learning (literacy and numeracy), at school.
Supported by responsive teachers, your child will have the freedom and be encouraged to choose how he/she wishes to play, guided by their individual interests.
Walking into our outdoor playground, you’ll hear the sound of children’s laughter and you’ll see this space has been created to meet the specific needs of each age and stage of development.
Designed so that children can explore using their whole body, with a focus on freedom to move and active play, time outdoors benefits your child by providing opportunities for them to challenge themselves physically.
And, as your child has the option to choose their outdoor play, they’re able to further develop their own interests, make discoveries and foster amazing friendships through play.

Let’s take a closer look at each room, shall we?

Babies Room
This warm, naturally sun-lit room is home to our youngest children. In an uncluttered, relaxed environment, our “Play and Care Curriculum” will nurture your little one’s growth and development.
Building a strong, personal relationship with your baby is what matters most, so they feel secure. And the benefit to your little one is that when they’re comfortable exploring in safe surroundings, they’re ready to learn.
It’s the sensory-rich, tactile resources and set ups that evoke a sense of wonder for your little one, enabling them to become confident communicators and explorers.
We make time for your infant in our Babies room, because ratios are low. This enables Teachers to incorporate gentle moments of care into your baby’s day and build strong bonds and trust.
Sleep is an essential part of your baby’s day and in our quiet, dedicated sleep area, your little one will have deep, restful sleep. And when they wake, we’ll be there with a reassuring cuddle.
You’ll be kept in touch with how your infant is spending their day at Kindercare, through your child’s Baby Journal. This also gives you the opportunity to keep us connected to your baby’s home routine and anything that we need to know about.

Toddlers Room
You’ll find a team in the Toddler’s room who love working with this age.
That’s because they understand your child’s energy, growing need for independence, eagerness to learn and curiosity.
Our “Care and Play Curriculum” enables us to plan for and meet the unique needs of children at this stage of development.
The benefit to your child of focussed attention, in a soothing, relaxed environment, is that there’s time to notice, recognise and respond to your child’s interests and needs and support them in mastering their self-help skills and emerging autonomy.
With flexible routines, a spirit of playfulness and loving interactions, your child will feel a sense of safety and belonging, thus able to explore and make choices – so learning happens naturally, through play.
A wide range of resources and toys will fill your toddler’s days with fun, meaningful conversations will foster your child’s language development and of course plenty of cuddles will ensure your little one feels cherished at Kindercare.

Preschool Rooms
If you’re looking for an environment that will nurture the “explorer” in your preschool child and offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor play-based learning opportunities, we offer this, and more, in our 2 Preschool rooms.
Resourced with care and thought for the needs of this age group, and planning personalised to your child’s stage of development, your child’s growing understanding of their world is supported.
Letterland is our early literacy phonics program. The benefit to your child is that each letter of the alphabet is introduced in a play-based approach, using songs, pictures and games.
You Can Do It is our program to support your child’s social and emotional development. This is beneficial because it fosters skills that your child will need for life – like resilience, organisation, persistence, confidence.
Transition to School is a focus in one of our Preschool rooms, ensuring that as an older preschooler, your child will be prepared for the exciting move to primary school.
Experienced Transition to School Teachers in this room will work with your child, individually and in small project groups, to introduce and explore concepts including early numeracy and literacy, science, listening and speaking and collaboration skills.
Cherry.bytes is our safe and exciting program that gives older preschoolers an introduction to the digital world. Under the constant supervision of our specialist Cherry.bytes Teacher, your child will use an iPad as another learning tool – opening up a multi-media, interactive world of discovery that encourages preschoolers to be “passionately curious”. Don’t be surprised if our weekly Cherry.bytes session becomes the highlight of your child’s week!

Our Team
Your child matters to our team at Wigram Skies, which is why you’ll find we’ll go the extra mile with their care and education.
We’re committed to ensuring your little one is safe, settled in their new environment, feeling loved and having fun learning.
Building a relationship with your child, and with your family, takes time – and begins with getting to know you and understanding your child.
The cultural diversity in our centre enriches your child’s early childhood experience. An important part of centre life is the celebration of different cultural events, throughout the year.
Planned events and celebrations at Kindercare are wonderful opportunities to come together as a community – share and learn and get to know each other a little more. We hope you’ll join us for these.
Our team are dedicated to developing your child’s full potential and keeping them safe, loved and learning.

My Commitment to You
It’s a privilege to care for your little one and support your family.
My team and I acknowledge the critical importance of these early years, for an amazing foundation, positive learning for life, and for your child’s future.

Taking the First Step
We’d like to warmly invite you to give us a call, or better still, pop in for a visit. Working to your time frames, we can show you our centre and make time to answer any questions you may have.
And bring your child too – we’d love to meet them and introduce them to Kindercare.

When you see spend a little time with us, we know you’ll know this is the best place for your child’s early years.
Sophie

About Us

Our architecturally designed childcare centre opened in Wigram Skies, in June 2015, and is licensed to provide outstanding care and early childhood education for children from infancy through to when they are ready to go to school, which is usually at 5yrs of age.

The centre is designed so that children spend time in rooms where the environment is appropriate for their developmental age and stage.

Your child will be cared for in relaxed, safe indoor and outdoor environments, with lots of varied and fun-filled opportunities.

To find out more about our early education program and exciting days for your baby, toddler or preschool child, click here.

We’re open daily throughout the year, (except for weekends and statutory holidays), from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Parents and families are warmly welcome to pop in at any time that we’re open to visit us and have a look around.

And we love you to bring your child along too so we can meet them and introduce them to Kindercare.

Included in your fee, Kindercare provides a cooked midday meal which is prepared at the centre daily. We also provide healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks.

Bottles/formula and nappies are not provided so parents are asked to send what your child needs for the day.

Information about enrolment schedules, fees and space availability are all aspects of our early childhood service that we like to chat to you about personally, so please come in and see us or give us a call and we’ll answer your questions.
