Looking for childcare Kilbirnie, daycare Kilbirnie or preschool Kilbirnie?
You'll find what you're looking for at Kindercare in Kilbirnie, which is in the dedicated and experienced hands of our centre director, Timothy Teng.

"A "home away from home” is what you’ll feel at our centre; a place where you and your child will experience a nurturing, warm environment; and a team that believe it’s a privilege to have your child placed in our care.

What We Do:
Having fun with your child is what we love doing, at Kindercare, and that’s why you’ll hear lots of laughter throughout our early childhood centre and see lots of smiles from both our children and staff.
Linking centre life and home life is an on-going priority for Kindercare and that’s why, as a parent, you will receive regular feedback and support through Educa, our online Portfolios for children. This also gives you the opportunity to keep us up to date and informed about what’s happening at home. For our Babies and Toddlers, your child will also have a daily Journal.
Because our families come from a wide range of different cultural backgrounds, and because we embrace and celebrate families and cultures, you’ll find our multi-cultural environment acknowledges the rich heritage of your child and family.
I thought you might like to know a little more about the care and education we offer your child so, hopefully, this answers some of your questions:

Babies:
Children are the world’s greatest resource and in our Babies room, your child is at the beginning of their unique and individual journey of growth and development. Guided by their interests, our Babies room Teachers are there to support and encourage your child on their journey.
Your infant has his/her own routine at this age, which is why we work with you, as parents, to follow your home routine, and your wishes, as closely as possible.
You’ll see many “open-ended” resources and set-up’s in our room, which give your baby the freedom to move and explore, in a safe environment. This supports your little one in their development of essential life-skills like building his/her self-confidence and developing a sense of curiosity.
Your baby learns about him/herself through play – starting with the fingers and toes, which they explore and use to meet their growing mobility and needs.
And, in a calm, settled environment, with respectful care, a predictable routine and regular moments of affection and connection throughout the day, your little one will feel settled, loved and a sense of belonging in our Babies room.

Toddlers:
It’s the warm, predictable environment, and the loving, respectful relationships between your child and their teachers in our Toddler’s room, that will support your little one as they transition from your home, to our care.
Getting to know your child, providing a consistent daily routine and promoting a sense of belonging is so important for your little one to settle, feel secure and ready to explore and have fun. Learning then happens naturally.
Lots of cuddles, time for one-on-one interactions and exciting resources and activities all provide opportunities for toddlers to use their whole bodies and boundless energy to make discoveries, build self-confidence, explore their growing independence and lay down those skills that are essential foundations to ensure your child is prepared for and able to succeed later in formal learning, when they go to school.
Toddlers are amazing and we’re ready to make the most of every minute with your little one…

Preschoolers:
This is such an exciting age for your young child and we want to make it learning as much fun as possible. Hand in hand with this is caring for your child through intentional interactions, love and respect, and working collaboratively with you, their parents and whanau, to provide the very best for your preschooler.
So, opportunities to use and practice new skills, try new resources and props that introduce basic literacy and numeracy, and explore different experiences which enable your child to transfer and add to their essential foundation skills are all just waiting for your little one in our Preschool rooms.
Your child will be encouraged to develop his/her independence, use their growing communication skills by increasing their vocabulary and expressing their views, as well as enjoy opportunities to explore real life experiences through dramatic and pretend play, which is developing both social skills and their interactions.
Guided by teachers who take time to notice, recognise and respond to your preschooler, they’ll have time during their day to participate in small and larger group activities, contribute and negotiate at mat time, enjoy independent learning, exploration and discovery, and feel supported as they establish and builds friendships.
It’s important that your child feels safe and valued because this is essential as they learn to manage their emotions and develop strategies for positive and meaningful outcomes in a wide variety of social situations.

Transition to School Room:
Your child is nearing the end of their preschool years and getting ready for their exciting move to primary school and we aim to ensure that this transition is as smooth and successful as possible both for your preschooler, and for your family.
So the environment is set up essentially like a new entrant classroom, with two primary trained Teachers who understand what your little one needs at this stage of development.
The focus is on encouraging independence and teaching your child the basic skills they will need in the primary school environment. These include knowing how to express their ideas and feelings confidently and competently, how to take on leadership opportunities in the classroom and participating in group projects that allow your child to make choices, be part of the decision making process and how to research, explore and document their learning.
Children love “Show and Tell” at mat time and on Fridays, we have “Lunch Box” day – which gives children the opportunity to experience and manage a packed lunch e.g. opening wrappers. And we love your child to come back and visit after they’ve started school, and tell us all about it, because we care about the next part of their journey!

Our Team:
Consistency and familiar faces are so important to your child in terms of building loving relationships, settling, and feeling at home.
That’s why your child, and your family, will benefit from our stable, passionate and fun-loving teaching team who will nurture a warm and secure attachment to your child and a strong positive partnership between you and our centre family.
Working together, on-going dialogue and reciprocal feedback between you and our team enables us to achieve the best outcomes for your little one. Providing a settled and positive environment for your child is possible at our centre in Kilbirnie because of the supportive team culture we nurture.
The individual strengths and interests of our multicultural and gender mixed team are acknowledged, and we provide on-going coaching and mentoring to support our staff in their role of caring for and educating your child.

My Commitment to You:
It’s my passion for children, and providing them with an exceptional early childhood education, that inspires me as Centre Director at our centre.
I am committed to providing a safe, loving environment where your child is nurtured through affectionate, respectful relationships and is able to grow, become independent and develop his/her self-esteem.

What’s the First Step:
Walking into our centre, you will feel that love and commitment that we have for you and your child.
With a very natural and engaging environment, and amazing spaces in which your child can learn and grow, you’ll discover that Kindercare in Kilbirnie is a very special place and we’re proud of what we do for children and families.
But you need to find this out for yourself. So why not contact us and we’ll arrange a time that works for you to come into the centre.
As you have a look around, you’ll meet my team of teachers who are committed to providing your little one with the best possible care and education – all wrapped up in love".
Timothy

About Our Centre:

Our purpose-built childcare centre opened in Kilbirnie in 2007 and is licensed to provide outstanding care and early childhood education for children from infancy through to when they are ready to go to school, which is usually at 5yrs of age.

The centre is designed so that children spend time in rooms where the environment is appropriate for their developmental age and stage.

Your child will be cared for in relaxed, safe indoor and outdoor environments, with lots of varied and fun-filled opportunities.

To find out more about our early education program and exciting days for your baby, toddler or preschool child, click here.

We’re open daily throughout the year, (except for weekends and statutory holidays), 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 5.00pm Friday.

Parents and families are warmly welcome to pop in at any time during the day to visit us and have a look around. And we love you to bring your child along too so we can meet them and introduce them to Kindercare.

Included in your fee, Kindercare provides a nutritious, cooked midday meal which is prepared at the centre daily. We also provide healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks.

Bottles/formula and nappies are not provided so parents are asked to send what your child needs for the day.

Information about enrolment schedules, fees and space availability are all aspects of our early childhood service that we like to chat to you about personally, so please come in and see us or give us a call and we’ll answer your questions.
