Kindercare Manurewa

Centre Details

Operating Hours:
Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.30pm

Kia Ora,

We are committed to care for all tamariki in a secure and stimulating environment, enabling each child to develop and learn at their own pace.

Childcare at our centre is designed to meet whānau aspirations and the needs of each child, with age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers and preschoolers throughout their day.

We are conveniently located for families in Manurewa, Takanini, Hillpark, Alfriston and Totara Heights, so come say hi! We’ll make time to show you and your family around the centre so you can experience for yourself, an environment where children are safe, loved and learning.

Whānau, you’re more than welcome to pop in at any time during the day to visit us! We encourage you to bring your child with you too, so we can meet them and introduce them to Kaiako and our environment.

Arohanui,
Justine Matthews
Centre Director / Pou Kaitiaki

Why Choose Our Centre

Simply put, it’s because we offer outstanding early childhood care and learning. But here are a few other great reasons:

  • We have long-serving Kaiako with a wealth of experience and stability, providing a home away from home.
  • We are a multi-cultural centre; between our team, we speak Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Haryanvi, Togan, Samoan and English.
  • Our operational hours allow us to provide flexible options to suit your family’s needs, with full-time and part-time care.
  • Kai is included. We provide high-quality plant-based whole-food meals for tamariki—all cooked on-site and prepared with love.
  • We offer a generous leave policy because we understand the unpredictability of children’s absences.
  • We pride ourselves on having a safe and clean environment for your child to spend their day in.

About Our Care

We believe children learn best in a nurturing and playful environment where Kaiako are responsive to children’s dispositions, urges, interests and whānau aspirations. Kaiako plan, assess and evaluate all tamariki to create activities that support and extend their learning. Our team aspire to provide a learning environment embracing of Māori as tangata whenua of New Zealand and to share this with our tamariki.

Our learning program is underpinned by Te Whāriki with an approach that caters for individual needs and respectful care towards each person. While respectful care is weaved in our teaching practise throughout the centre, you’ll find this approach especially noticeable in our babies and toddlers rooms. Kaiako who care for very young children understand the importance of slowing down, building trust, giving pēpi their full attention, provide free movement, uninterrupted time and to tune in to their cues. In our rooms for preschoolers, our team are all about supporting them in their pathway to kura. We want tamariki to feel confident, capable, ready and excited for school when they transition out of their early years with us.

We also acknowledge whānau as first teachers, so your partnership is deeply valued. We would like you to feel comfortable as a contributing part of our centre whānau.

As a centre community established in 2001, work together through manaakitanga, aroha, kindness, whanaungatanga and rituals to build an centre life that supports each other’s well-being or hauora, and our wairuatanga or identity.

We understand that families have different childcare needs, and we would love to discuss them with you. This enables us to provide a tailored approach to your child’s care, learning and fees, to support their growth.
