Kia Ora,

Welcome to Kindercare Milford. My team and I recognise the significance of the decision you are making when you entrust us with your child during these pivotal and impressionable early years. That’s why our experienced team of qualified Kaiako are committed to keeping your child safe, loved and learning. We bring many years of experience, unique skills and different perspectives to exceed your family’s childcare needs.

We embrace tamariki from all cultures and provide a safe, fun-filled environment for them and their whānau. We believe every child is unique and is on their own learning journey, so we offer personalised care and education that reflect their development stage and individual needs.

Our warm and friendly team would love to show you around our childcare centre and get to know you better. We can answer any questions you may have and discuss how we can work in partnership with you to provide great outcomes for your child.

We are committed to creating a home away from home for your child at our daycare centre. So come and visit us sometime; we know you’ll love Kindercare!

Why Choose Our Centre

Simply put, it’s because we offer outstanding early childhood care and learning. But here are a few other great reasons:

  • We have a generous-sized outdoor area for tamariki with plenty of room for imaginative play, building friendships and discovering their world.
  • We are surrounded by great local schools and we work closely with them to support our children with a smooth pathway to kura.
  • Our operational hours allow us to provide flexible options to suit your family’s needs, with full-time and part-time care.
  • We have long-serving Kaiako with a wealth of experience who provide consistency of care and meaningful learning opportunities.
  • Kai is included. We provide high-quality plant-based whole-food meals for tamariki—all cooked on-site and prepared with love.
  • We offer a generous leave policy because we understand the unpredictability of children’s absences.
  • We respect each child as a unique individual and work in partnership with parents to provide a collaborative approach to their child’s care and learning.

About Our Care

At Kindercare Milford, we hold a deep belief in the importance of manaakitanga—a caring attitude and willingness to support. We desire to create a home-away-from-home experience for all children and their whānau, where they are safe, loved and learning. We also believe that unity—or kotahitanga—is crucial to creating a sense of belonging and security for children and their family. By investing in authentic parent partnerships and valuing a collaborative approach in developing your child’s full potential, we’re confident we can provide great care and learning outcomes for them.

Our dedicated Kaiako recognise and respect the uniqueness of each child. We seek to provide an environment that allows them to grow at their own pace, helping them to build a positive self-image as valuable, capable, and confident individuals. Our play-based learning approach within an intentionally responsive environment gives tamariki agency to express themselves as they learn through play. Our mana-enhancing philosophy focuses on social and emotional competencies, with a particular emphasis on building resilience.

We have been providing exceptional care and education since this Milford preschool opened in 1972, and it brings us joy to continue caring for a second generation of tamariki today. Our relaxed setting encourages children to spend their days happily playing and engaging in fun-filled learning experiences. We’re big on the holistic development of infants and toddlers, supporting active learning by allowing space and time for exploration and play. The preschool children learn in large, well-resourced environments that promote stimulating engagement in play. All of our rooms flow seamlessly from inside to outside, with covered decks for all-weather fun and a tranquil fern garden for those moments of quiet reflection.

We are committed to creating a warm, nurturing environment that fosters learning, growth, and a sense of belonging. Come and join us in our ‘home away from home’, where your child can learn, grow, and thrive. We understand that families have different childcare needs, and we would love to discuss them with you. This enables us to provide a tailored approach to your child’s care, learning, and fees, to support their growth.
