Kia Ora,

Kindercare Papatoetoe is a vibrant daycare centre, where your child will have fun-filled days learning through play. We’re all about serving with love, with a team of skilled, caring and passionate Kaiako who take the time to foster relationships with each child, ensuring they feel safe and loved. My team and I understand that children need our full attention along with meaningful interactions throughout the day to build trust, which is why we are committed to providing exactly that. We desire to ensure that your child flourishes in our care, and we are dedicated to achieving that.

We warmly invite you to visit our centre, meet our team, and ask us how we can best support you with your childcare needs, and whānau aspirations for your child. Together, we can gently settle your child into our daycare and become a part of their early years. Our centre is conveniently located for families in Papatoetoe, Clover Park, and Manukau, set back from Great South Road in a peaceful ‘sanctuary’ of care.

Thank you for considering us; we can’t wait to meet you!

Arohanui,
Lauren Hutcheson

Why Choose Our Centre

Simply put, it’s because we offer outstanding early childhood care and learning. But here are a few other great reasons:

  • We are proud to have an above-minimum Teacher:child ratio.
  • 80% of our team are qualified ECE Teachers, with the rest of our Kaiako training to receive their registration.
  • Our operational hours allow us to provide flexible options to suit your family’s needs, with full-time and part-time care.
  • Kai is included. We provide high-quality plant-based whole-food meals for tamariki—all cooked on-site and prepared with love.
  • We offer a generous leave policy because we understand the unpredictability of children’s absences.
  • Our centre has an close-knit family feel and our centre feels like a home-away-from-home.
  • We also have regular visits to the local primary school to enable children who are ready for school to build connections with their local primary school before they begin their journey in kura.

About Our Care

Childcare at Kindercare Papatoetoe is designed with age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers and preschoolers throughout their day. Our team is dedicated supporting the holistic development of each child because value the trust you place in us to care for your child.

Since 1998, aroha has remained at the core of all that we do, and we’re all about going the extra mile for tamariki, whānau and Kaiako. We understand that as parents, you have unique aspirations and that your family has cultural traditions; we welcome and celebrate that diversity by recognising these important cultural events throughout the year at our centre.

We are a small childcare centre with great relationships and connections with our community. Our infant room is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment, with a deep belief that care is the curriculum. We have separate rooms for toddlers, preschoolers, and tamariki who are preparing for school.

Our curriculum prioritises whanaungatanga and connection. We also prioritise turangawaewae to help children understand their identity and cultural connectedness, social and emotional competency. Thirdly, our program focuses on maiatanga— to build confident and curious learners.

Guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Whāriki (the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum), and Nga Tikanga Matatika Nga Paerewa (Code of professional responsibility and standards for the teaching profession), we are committed to recognising and respecting the unique identity of each child in our culturally diverse community, while also teaching them about the biculturalism of New Zealand. We believe by weaving through all of this into our everyday care and learning, each child in our centre will grow holistically.

We also believe in building strong partnerships with whānau, because we know that your child will will develop their full potential when we work together. Our connections and relationships are built on trust, respect, and compassion, which we seek to demonstrate in our daily practices.

We are excited to work with you and your family to create a safe and loving environment that fosters learning for your child. We understand that families have different childcare needs, and we would love to discuss them with you. This enables us to provide a tailored approach to your child’s care, learning and fees, to support their growth.
