- a generous annual leave allowance

- healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
- our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family
Because every child has different needs, we ask that you supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.

Why choose our centre?
Our homely, childcare centre opened in October 2000. Here, our daily rituals do more than keep your child safe, loved and learning. They celebrate how we all come together to create memories of the heart, supporting your child with rich learning experiences that help them develop positive behaviours and character traits.
We support new immigrants to our community and guide families into our care and learning environment with individualised attention. We love to hear about your cultural customs and special celebrations, so that we can weave these into our programs for your child’s benefit.
Our care and learning
While ensuring we are providing supportive, nurturing care for your child, we offer a fun-filled learning curriculum based on innovative thinking, discovery and curiosity. The visual appeal of our indoor and outdoor environments is truly in the detail and our abundant resources and versatile equipment will encourage your child to freely explore, learn, and allow their imaginations to flourish.
Kiwi Room (babies room)
We believe your little one’s growth is fostered through secure, loving relationships, daily opportunities to explore their safe surroundings, and an environment that supports their competence to master the motor skills needed to learn and discover. Your baby will settle in to our safe, nurturing environment with the help of our Kaiako, who offer consistent daily rituals and rhythms and take the time to get to know your pēpi, their emerging needs and individual interests.
Our experienced Teachers will support your infant as they interact with other tamariki at a similar stage of development, and they’ll provide opportunities for your baby to challenge their physical abilities through more complex movements. Our team create an individual plan for your child’s growth and development, so they will flourish in our care.
Tūī Room (toddlers room)
During this stage of high energy, independence and repetition, toddlers need a safe, supportive environment where they can develop and grow. That’s why we select Kaiako with the passion and expertise to care for and educate children at this age and stage of development which is all about the development of ‘self’. They’ll lovingly guide your child through a fun, interactive learning program: one that helps them develop their own voice, thoughts, ideas, and fosters their physical abilities, growth, confidence, coordination, energy, speed and endurance allowing for all these skills to develop and progress into sound foundations of knowledge.
Takahē Room (preschool and transition to school room)
We believe the final ‘stepping stone’ in our care should be one that prepares your child for that big step into primary school. So you’ll find that in this room, we foster school readiness and lifelong learning for your preschooler by continuing to develop their social, physical, emotional and cognitive skills.
We understand this is the age of ‘big thinking’ for your child - when they want to know more, seek more and enquire more. So we help cultivate these capabilities through fun-filled projects and other opportunities for your child to investigate, experiment and explore. We’ll also nurture their imagination, encourage language and confidence through through story-telling, the use of more descriptive speech and their natural ability to create a world of make-believe. Your child will start to get ready for school and further lay foundations for life-long learning socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively.
Our world of outdoor play
Spending time outside, in a safe environment that offers opportunity for fun-filled exploration in an important aspect of our care and learning program. Why? Because being physically active is critical for your child’s social, physical and intellectual development. Our tamariki love our outdoor play spaces, which are surrounded by natural bush and exciting places for imaginative active play.
We incorporate active movement into your child’s day, at each stage of their development, because we recognise that it is critical for brain development. To further support this, at our centre we offer Sports4Tots – a parent paid activity. If you choose to enrol your child for this, they will participate in a weekly fun-filled session at our centre, during school term times.
As Sports4Tots is for preschool age children, your little one will need to be between 2 and 5 years old. We know they’ll love learning fundamental sports skills, coordination, balance, and the value of play, all in a positive team environment. For more information, go to: www.Sports4tots.co.nz
