What’s the first step?

We understand that deciding who will care for your child when you’re apart is a big step. That’s why we keep it simple: just pop in for a visit. We’d love to meet you and your little one, and learn about how we can best support your child - and your family and whānau. We’ll also show you our vibrant learning environments and just how we’ll keep your child safe, loved and learning. Every day.

Why choose our centre?

Providing loving care and creative learning experiences since 2015, our centre is designed to care for your child from infancy until they are ready for primary school. Each fun-filled indoor and outdoor environment is intentionally planned to provide the nurturing care, inspiring learning and opportunities to socialisebest suited to your child’s individual needs.

Through our ‘Care and Play’ curriculum, we’ll foster your child’s love of learning. This fun-filled program allows your child to learn through play, with every activity based around your child’s interests, needs and strengths. And they’ll be developing all the foundational skills they’ll need for school

Our care and learning

At our childcare centre, we believe very child should have lots of opportunities to learn while having fun.

So, no matter what developmental stage your child is in, they’ll have the opportunity to take part in specially planned activities that develop their competencies in a range of areas including listening, sensory awareness, spatial awareness, direction, midline, patterns, memory and visual discrimination.

We believe in forming strong, supportive partnerships with you, to ensure we provide the best possible care and learning for your child. Our parent evenings and breakfasts are just some of the ways we invite you to spend time with us, exchange information about your child and ways we can support them to reach their full potential. And we keep you up to speed on your child’s progress using our online portfolios on Educa, where we welcome your feedback and input into your child’s journey through their early years.

We further support your family through specially designed programs to suit your needs. Our ‘Triple P’ program, helps promote a strong, healthy relationship between you and your child by learning how to identify, manage and reduce emotional and behavioural challenges.

We also provide a Family Services team to support you through budgeting assistance, health services and child behaviour advice.  All of this, through our connections with community and child development networks.

Because at the end of the day, we’re all about helping children and families thrive by serving with love.

 Kiwi Room (babies room)

We believe families and whānau choose care for your baby that closely resembles the kind of care you would give. The kind of care that is loving and responsive – that ensures your infant feels safe, and nurtured, with plenty of opportunities to explore their world. Here, we build trusting relationships with you and your little one - it’s at the heart of what we do. That’s why we partner with you to implement your baby’s home routine and needs as far as possible, ensuring your child receives consistent, loving care each day. We also provide learning experiences for your pēpi through unhurried interactions, movement, and tactile and sensory exploration - both indoors and out. And your child will enjoy the benefit of restful sleep - thanks to our peaceful dedicated sleep area with natural lighting and blinds.

With our Journals and online Educa portfolios, we record your child’s personal journey, documenting moments and milestones – so you have this to treasure in the future.

Tūī Room (toddlers room)

We understand that toddlers are filled with energy, curiosity and an eagerness to be independent – and that’s what we love to foster in your child. While feeling safe, loved, and cared for, your toddler will be having fun developing important foundation skills and exploring their unique strengths and competencies. That’s because our interest-based curriculum focusses on building your child’s language, self-help skills (including toileting), independence, gross motor capabilities, spatial awareness, balance development and crossing the midline. Our skilled team provide daily interactive mat times, outdoor play, and exploration throughout our sensory-rich environment. Through a warm, trusting relationship with their Teachers, your child will be guided - every step of the way.

Pūkeko Room (preschool room)

As your child grows, we understand the importance of self-help skills, language development and making friends. That’s why this is the place for your preschooler! Here, your child will enjoy play-based learning both indoors and out, helping them to develop the language, self-care and gross motor skills essential to their success at school. Your preschooler will also participate in a number of fun-filled programs that focus on early literacy, build social and emotional competencies, and use digital technology as another learning tool Participation in small project groups will strengthen your preschooler’s ability to negotiate and make assessments, and help them form positive friendships.

Our team are committed to supporting your child’s needs, by noticing their interests, recognising what they need and responding to them – whether through interactive mat times, quiet reading, or one-on-one conversations.

Takahē Room (transition to school room)

We understand that moving on to primary school is a big change for your child. That’s why we’re proud to offer a Transition to School Room – to help your little one feel safe and confident as they take that next big step in their learning journey. Here, your child will be guided through enquiry-based learning, helping them to develop their own thoughts on the material, social, natural and physical world.

We’ll also get them school-ready by weaving in subjects like early literacy and numeracy , while building their speaking and listening skills. Your child’s social and emotional competencies and use of technology as a learning tool will also continue to be fostered through fun-filled programs.

We complement this fun and learning with real-life learning experiences. These include excursions into our community and ‘lunchbox days’, which guides your child through the school lunch experience through a packed lunch at Kindercare. They’ll also participate in our home reading program, providing take-home books so your child can enjoy one-on-one reading with you, at home.

All of this guides tamariki on their way as they take that big step into primary school.

Our world of outdoor play

Movement is at the very heart of your child’s intellectual, social and physical development. For this reason, we offer safe, expansive outdoor spaces where your child can play, explore, discover, experiment and make friends through physical activity. These areas not only support your little one’s growth and learning, but also their transition into the next stage of development.

A little about our team

At our early childhood centre, we recognise that you are your child’s first teacher, and that learning begins at home. So while keeping your child safe, loved and learning, our experienced, qualified Kaiako are committed to building a supportive relationship with you.

It’s commitment to partnership that enables us to embrace what is important to your family and whānau, through our care and learning. We welcome your contributions to your child’s education and development at any time, because this helps to build a meaningful connection between home life and centre life, and creates that important sense of belonging for your child, while in our care.

You will have peace of mind in knowing your child is being respected and nurtured within our culture of kindness at Kindercare Fairfield. Because by cherishing your child with you, we can help them reach their full potential.
