  • About Our Care
  • Nau Mai,

At Kindercare Kohimarama, we believe that care is the foundation of learning, because children matter. When children feel safe, valued, and deeply known, meaningful learning naturally unfolds.

We are intentional about creating a nurturing environment that feels like a home away from home, where every child is embraced as part of our extended whānau. Here, tamariki are surrounded by aroha, genuine connection, and a strong sense of belonging. Their voices are heard, their identities are affirmed, and their unique strengths are celebrated each day. Through respectful, responsive relationships, we lay the groundwork for confidence, curiosity, and resilience.

Our Kaiako thoughtfully support children through the rhythms of their day, recognising that moments of care, sharing kai, settling to sleep, comforting, celebrating milestones, are powerful opportunities for learning and growth.

In strong partnership with families, we are committed to providing exceptional care and education. Together, we weave a kete of knowledge, trust, culture, and aroha; a foundation that empowers each child to stand tall in who they are and to carry that sense of security and capability with them throughout their lives.

  • Why Choose Our Centre

    Learning through movement & play

We champion movement and play because active bodies support active minds. Through a range of engaging physical experiences, we nurture coordination, confidence, and brain development. We intentionally design our environment to encourage purposeful movement every day.

    Social and emotional development

We place strong emphasis on fostering a positive sense of self-worth and emotional resilience. Tamariki learn how to express their feelings, navigate friendships, show empathy, and develop respectful relationships. These foundational skills empower children to feel secure in who they are and confident in connecting with others.

    Generous Leave Policy
    Generous annual leave

We understand real life happens. That’s why we offer a generous leave policy. We recognise that children’s absences can be unpredictable, and we aim to support families with understanding and flexibility.

  • About Our Care

At Kindercare Kohimarama, everything we do is grounded in care, connection, and a genuine commitment to giving your child the very best start in life.
We offer The Kindercare Advantage, guided by our four pillars: Nurture Me, Nourish Me, Move Me, and Inspire Me. These pillars shape everything we do, from the way we care for infants and toddlers to how we extend and challenge our preschoolers.
Our programmes are designed to reflect whānau aspirations and meet the unique needs of each child, with age-appropriate experiences woven naturally throughout the day. We embrace diversity and are proud of our multicultural community, creating an inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and supported to thrive.
We understand that starting childcare can feel overwhelming. That’s why we partner closely with you to create a thoughtful settling plan, ensuring your child and your whānau, feel safe, loved, and secure. Whanaungatanga has been at the heart of our centre since 1990, and strong, supportive relationships with families remain central to who we are.
We are conveniently located for families in Mission Bay, St Heliers, Kohimarama, and Orakei.
