Nau Mai,
Welcome to Kindercare Constellation! Our team of long serving Teachers work in partnership with you our parents and whānau, to foster a strong sense of belonging for tamariki in our care. We’re intentional about creating calm, nature-inspired play spaces within our generous sized environments where tamariki are safe, loved and learning.
Kaiako actively encourage children’s creativity and curiosity through a responsive inquiry-based curriculum where the focus is on fun. For our youngest children, our experienced infant and toddler Teachers work to provide an atmosphere of quiet and respectful care working in partnership with you every step of the way. I take pride in it being a centre where kindness and second mile service is at the heart of all that we do. Rest assured, your precious child is in safe, loving hands.
We celebrate whānau because you matter, and we seek to be supportive and flexible to all families in or centre community. We are conveniently located for families in Mairangi Bay, Rosedale, Sunnynook, and Windsor. Please know that you are welcome anytime to visit and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Arohanui,
Jemma Smith

About Our Care
Kindercare Constellation established in 1993, places the child is at the heart of everything we do. Our approach is based on whanaungatanga and respectful care, which creates a sense of mana whenua and manakitanga among our team, tamariki, and whānau. We view all tamariki as capable and confident learners, recognising each child’s individuality, uniqueness, and whakapapa. Our experienced and qualified Kaiako create intentional care and learning plans for each child, understanding that children learn and develop in different ways.
At our childcare centre in Mairangi Bay, our program is designed to meet the aspirations of whānau and the needs of each child, with age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers throughout the day. We also provide opportunities for tamariki to make choices and decisions about their learning, nurturing their self-belief, confidence, as well as social and emotional competencies. We recognise that these are all crucial to setting each child up for success in their schooling years, and more importantly, in life.
Understanding that “the body teaches the brain,” our centre is purpose-built with spacious environments that foster meaningful pathways for future learning. Our Kaiako promote children’s creativity and curiosity through responsive inquiry-based learning, utilising natural resources and loose parts to inspire innovation. Various ‘work’ stations provide provocations for play, encouraging children to think critically, problem-solve, and practice essential skills for school readiness. Tamariki are free to tinker and explore their beautifully arranged environment.
Your child will also benefit from hands-on learning experiences, such as maintaining our worm farm, tending to our veggie garden, and engaging in cooking activities to encourage understanding about where our food comes from and foster a positive relationship with food. We also have lovely meaningful rituals throughout the day, allowing children to sit, relax, and chat with each other.
Our teaching team is skilled at implementing strategies to support inclusive practices and provide equitable outcomes for all children. We have a keen passion for supporting diverse learners and have excellent relationships with education support workers, speech and language therapists, and other external agencies.
We understand that families have different childcare needs, and we would love to discuss them with you. This enables us to provide a tailored approach to your child’s care, learning, and fees, to support their growth. Apart from full day care options, we also offer the following sessions:
- Morning Only: 8:30am – 12:30pm from $10.80
- Afternoon Only: 1:00pm – 5:00pm FREE
- Part day: 9:00am – 3:00pm from $16.20 (4 – 5 years only)
