Nau Mai,
Welcome to Kindercare Woolston, where we are committed to keeping children safe, loved, and learning. Family matters deeply to us, and we value strong partnerships with whānau. We provide a supportive environment where families can seek help, share in their child’s learning journey, and work with us to support their child’s full potential.
We embrace the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and weave te ao Māori into our daily activities, promoting partnership, protection, and participation. Guided by Te Whāriki, our core values of hauora, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga, along with the Te Whare Tapa Whā model, we prioritise the holistic wellbeing of every child.
Our team focuses on enhancing the mana of tamariki and whānau, recognising their strengths and cultural identities. We are purposeful in providing a curriculum that embraces diverse perspectives and affirms the languages, customs, values, and traditions represented in our community. We support children to develop social and emotional skills, resilience, and self-control.
We invite you to visit us if you’re looking for childcare in your local area. Our team would love to show you the wonderful opportunities we offer at Kindercare Woolston, and we look forward to welcoming you to experience the Kindercare difference.
Arohanui,
The team at Kindercare Woolston -
Why Choose Our Centre
Values-driven culture
In addition to keeping each child safe, loved and learning, we deeply value manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and hauora.
Child-led learning & agency
We believe children learn best when they are included in decisions about what they want to learn.
Family services support
We are proud of our second-mile service, working with a range of external agencies for families who need additional support.
Strong community connections
Whānau choose us because of the warm, authentic and trusting connections between our team, whānau and the wider Woolston community. We aim to remove barriers for all children to learn and to be cared for.

About Our Care
Childcare at our centre is designed to meet whānau aspirations and the needs of each child, with age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers and preschoolers throughout their day.
Recognising that tamariki learn and grow holistically, we make connections between the key elements of holistic development: hinengaro (mind), tinana (body), whatumanawa (emotions), wairua (spirit), pāpori (social), and ahurea (cultural). Through a broad and rich curriculum, we enable children to grow across all dimensions, removing barriers and fostering acceptance, equity, and meaningful engagement.
Flowing seamlessly, our outdoor areas are designed for fun and to spark your child’s curiosity and learning, while our intentional and well-resourced indoor spaces offer a nurturing environment. We understand that families have different childcare needs, and we would love to discuss them with you. This enables us to provide a tailored approach to your child’s care, learning, and fees, to support their growth.
Since 2008, we have been a part of the community, and our centre is conveniently located for families in Woolston, Ferrymead, Hillsborough, and Opawa. We look forward to supporting you and your child on their journey with us through these incredible preschool years. So join us at Kindercare Woolston and watch your child thrive!
