Kindercare Learning Centres Botany Downs
Looking for childcare Botany Downs, daycare Botany Downs or preschool Botany Downs?
You'll find what you're looking for at Kindercare in Botany Downs, which is in the dedicated and experienced hands of Camilla Higham, our centre director.
“When you visit our childcare centre, we want you feel welcome and “at home”. The team is a family and many of our staff have been at Kindercare for over 10 years.
Our staff are enthusiastic and passionate about early childhood care and education. Their collective early childhood training and experience enables us to provide wonderful developmental and learning experiences for the children at each stage of development.
As reflected in the local community, our staff is multi-cultural, with people from many parts of the world. This means that together, our team of Kiwi and international teachers are able to support families new to New Zealand as they settle into the community and learn about the New Zealand culture.
We embrace cultural diversity at our early childhood centre in Botany Downs. It’s important for us to find out about each child’s family and culture and we encourage families to share this with their child’s group.
As a centre, we celebrate various festivals and important cultural events throughout the year including Diwali, Matariki, Chinese New Year, Anzac Day, Easter and Christmas.
Families are valued at our centre too. We encourage parents to become involved in their child’s early learning and development as much as possible. This could be through sharing news from home with teachers, working together on specific learning outcomes for your child or visiting the centre to bake, tell a story or share a special skill with the children. Input from parents and families is always welcomed and appreciated.
We have several large, spacious rooms at our centre and this enables us to ensure the children are actively engaged, within a calm atmosphere.
In our Babies Room, as in all the rooms, there is an emphasis on developing warm, trusting relationships between the teachers and babies so that each baby develops the confidence to explore their environment, with the security of knowing that a loving teacher is close by, who can respond to them if needed. Our babies have their own outdoor play area.
The nature of toddlers is to be “on the go and into everything”. So, our Toddlers Room and outdoor play area is set up with this in mind. You’ll find there is always a lot happening in this room which means your inquisitive toddler has a wide range of opportunities to challenge him/herself physically, explore a tactile environment, enjoy sensory play and investigate the possible ways to manipulate their environment.
We have 3 different preschool groups, catering for different stages of development between 3 and 5 years old. Each of these rooms offers rich learning experiences, supported by nurturing, responsive teachers. We encourage children to develop a “can do” attitude and empower them to make their own decisions, be creative and to express themselves appropriately.
In our Preschool 3 Room, we support children in their preparation for the transition to primary school. We aim to develop skills that children will need when they begin their primary school education. It’s wonderful to see how many of these children come back and visit us and when families stay with us as younger siblings enroll at the centre, enabling us to keep in touch.
We remain committed to providing an environment that keeps children safe, loved and learning and we hope that when you visit our centre, you will feel that warmth and friendliness and that you will decide to join our Kindercare family.”
