You’ll find it at our childcare centre in Dannemora, where every day begins and ends with loving care in a warm, welcoming and spacious environment. Our passionate, experienced team, led by our Centre Director, Claire Jude, will gently guide your little one as they grow and learn through play.
And our team understand the importance of supporting you too, through these early years. That’s why we want to hear about your aspirations for your child, your childcare needs and those interesting details about your family. The more we know and understand about you and your child, the better we’re able to respond to them in our care, providing affection, cuddles, flexible routines and creative, challenging learning experiences. Transition to School
Like you, we want the best for your child. So we don’t compromise on safe, supportive, care and education. Our team works hard to ensure your family receives the highest standard of care for your weekly fee, which includes:
- a generous annual leave allowance
- a nutritious midday meal, prepared fresh at thecentredaily – so you won’t need to pack kai
- healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
- our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family
It’s because we appreciate that every child has different needs, that we ask you to supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.
If you would like to learn more about our fees, enrolment schedules or space availability, please let us know. We’re happy to talk through any questions or provide whatever information you may need, to help you make the best decision for your child and your family.
What’s the first step?
Whether you’re looking at childcare for the first time or considering alternatives to your current arrangements, we would love you to visit us when it works for you, or simply call us to set up a time. And because we’ll be entrusted with your precious child’s care, please bring them along. We’d love to meet them, too, and introduce them to our safe, friendly world of fun and discovery.
Why choose our childcare centre?
Providing safe, loving care and learning since 2001, our daycare centre is designed to care for your child from infancy until they are ready for primary school. At each age and stage of development, your child will be engaged and having fun in intentionally designed and attractive play and learning areas – both indoors and out. When you leave your child in our care, you’ll have peace of mind that they will receive nurturing care, creative learning and social opportunities that are planned to meet their individual needs.
Love a good celebration? So do we – especially when it honours the different cultures of our centre families and whānau. That’s why we can’t wait to share some of these with you, including Chinese New Year, Easter, Matariki, Christmas and Diwali.
In fact, we’re all about embracing the vibrancy of our local, multicultural community so we’ll cherish your child’s heritage from infancy – nurturing their special gifts until they leave our care to go to school.
Our care and learning
We believe the best care begins with making your child feel safe and loved, while giving them plenty of fun-filled opportunities to help them learn, grow and reach their full and amazing potential. That’s why our focus is on building your child’s foundational skills through programs that are responsive to their stage of development, interests and needs.
Kiwi and Ruru Rooms (babies rooms)
In these rooms you’ll find we provide the nurturing care you want for your baby: loving, responsive and gentle care, in a ‘home-away-from-home’ environment. That’s because we understand the importance of your little one feeling settled and safe, when they’re away from you. So, we work with you to align your child’s home routines with their care and learning routines at Kindercare. And thanks to your child’s Journal, as well as our online portfolios, we’ll document as much of your child’s personal daily journey as possible, so you won’t be missing those significant ‘milestones’.
Tūī and Kea Rooms (toddlers rooms)
At this beautiful energetic age of toddlers, we know you want your little one to feel safe and nurtured, as well as having fun learning, exploring and participating in new experiences each day. As they spend time both indoors and out, your toddler will be acquiring the foundation skills that support the development of their language and independence skills through ever-changing play-based learning activities, guided by their needs and interests. By balancing these with affectionate relationships and a flexible routine, our Kaiako ensure your ‘busy bee’ will still benefit from consistent rest times and the nutritious meals that they need to help them reach their full potential.
Pūkeko, Takahē and Kererū Rooms (preschool rooms)
From our youngest preschool tamariki, to those preparing for their transition to school, we provide an environment where our Kaiako are intentional about noticing your child, recognising their interests and needs and responding to each child individually. It’s this care and respect for how capable your preschooler is as well as our special programmes, like You Can Do It – which nurtures your child’s social and emotional development - that lay those important foundations for your child to achieve success in developing their early literacy and numeracy skills. And while we encourage your child’s natural curiosity and love of learning, we also ensure each day is fun-filled!
Kōtuku Room (transition to school room)
As tamariki prepare to start school, we want to ensure that we’ve prepared them for the smoothest possible transition. That’s why we have developed and continue to focus on a program that is current and aligned with what they need to move into the school environment. Our ‘You Can Do It’ programme continues, woven into many aspects of your child’s learning and development activities throughout each day. In addition special features of this room include things like our “Lunch Box Days” which are designed to help your child learn how to undo wrappers and spread out their food in the form of a packed lunch. As in the older preschool rooms, your child will also enjoy their weekly Cherry.bytes session – where they get to use technology in a safe environment, as another learning tool to extend the current room focus. It’s interactive and exciting. Our partnerships with the local schools allows your child to visit some local primary schools, before they officially start, and this is so beneficial to give them the opportunity to become more familiar and at ease in the school environment.
Our world of outdoor play
Movement is a critical factor in your child’s intellectual, social and physical development. That’s why we recognise how important our safe, outdoor spaces are for your child to play, explore, discover and make friends through physical activity.
A little about our team
At our childcare centre, we understand that learning begins at home. For this reason, our team is all about building a lasting, meaningful connection with you. From your child’s first transition visits through each unique and amazing stage in their learning journey with us, we’ll work with you to ensure your child is happy, thriving and guided to reach their full potential.
We also make a loving connection with culture, at our centre. As a multicultural team, we’re passionate about helping new families from diverse backgrounds settle into our Kindercare community.
We look forward to welcoming your whānau to Kindercare Dannemora.
It would be our privilege to spend some time with you, and show you around our family-focused centre. Because, above all, we understand that while you’re away from your precious child, you need that peace of mind that your son or daughter is safe, happy, and enjoying a wonderful world of early childhood experiences.
