Fees

Like you, we want the best for your child. So we don’t compromise on safe, supportive, care and education. Our team works hard to ensure your family receives the highest standard of care for your weekly fee, which includes:

  • a generous annual leave allowance
  • a nutritious midday meal, prepared fresh at the centre daily – so you won’t need to pack kai
  • healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
  • our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family

We know every child has different needs, and that’s why we ask that you supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.

What’s the first step?

Feel free to call us, email us, or pop in for a visit when it works for you. We’d love to meet you and your family and whānau, and show you around our safe, friendly world of care, learning and discovery.

And when you join our family, we look forward to hearing about what makes yours unique. Please share your family values with us, and your cultural background and heritage because all of these things contribute to the extraordinary individual your child is. Tell us your hopes and aspirations for your little one because the more we understand about your child and your family and whānau, the better we can provide care and learning that supports your child’s individual needs.

Why choose our centre?

Providing safe, loving care since 1980, our daycare centre is designed to cherish your child from infancy until they are ready for primary school. Located on a quiet, leafy cul-de-sac street, you’d never believe our nurturing environment is just a five-minute drive from the Auckland CBD. Once the Arch Hill General Store in the 1800s, our childcare centre provides a unique, fun-filled atmosphere where your child will be cared for alongside tamariki of a similar age and stage of development, in specially crafted play and learning indoor and outdoor areasEach environment is intentionally planned to provide the affectionate care, creative learning and social opportunities best suited to your child’s individual needs.

At Kindercare Grey Lynn, we celebrate each family and embrace your participation from day one. We can’t wait to share our many special traditions with you and your whānau throughout the year

Our care and learning

At our early childhood centre our care is peaceful and respectful, and early learning is fostered through play-based opportunities and strong connections with our Grey Lynn community. At each stage of development we take time to engage your child to participate in fun-filled activities that nurture your child’s learning and growth.

For our preschool tamariki, they will enjoy educational visits from local residents, or, excursions to the nearby library, and also trips to our surrounding primary schools as their transition to school approaches.

Our care and learning plan for your child is personalised to meet their needs at each stage of their development. And, we want you to be a part of it, every step of the way. Through our online portfolios, we’ll keep you up-to-date on your child’s progress and our centre happenings. We also invite you and your whānau to regularly contribute to your child’s care and learning, at any time. Because together, we can help your child reach their full potential.

Simply put, tamariki and families matter to us, at our daycare centre. Our partnership with you also includes fun-filled centre events where we welcome your whānau to join us, including parent meetings, our annual Christmas show, Matariki soup night, and more.

Kiwi Room (babies room)

We believe this room should be an extension of the love and care you would give at home. That’s why in our babies room, we provide loving and respectful care, through gentle moments that embrace your baby’s unique needs. As your little one transitions into our care, we take the time to learn how they like to be fed, changed, held and put to sleep. We keep in constant contact with you, so you’ll always know how your baby is settling in. In fact, our door is wide open whenever you feel the need to spend time with your little one. Because together, we can ensure your child receives the best care possible.

Tūī Room (toddlers room)

A busy hub of laughter and activity, our care in this room is responsive to your child, and integrates activities that help your little one develop those important foundation skills, in the spirit of playfulness. Gross motor development is supported and encouraged through activities like music and movement, climbing, running, jumping, skipping and hopping. And when it comes to fine motor skills, your child will have the benefit of exploring our creative arts and sensory play.

Through our partnership with you, we work together to foster your toddler’s self-help and social competencies. Such shared opportunities include setting their own mealtime tables and learning how to ‘tidy-up. And when your child is ready to try toileting, again, we’ll work with you on the timing of this and encouraging your child to feel comfortable using our specially designed toddler toilets – making ‘change time’ a happy time.

Pūkeko Room (preschool room)

As your child grows, we understand the importance of maintaining loving relationships, building confidence, resilience and your child’s strong sense of self. That’s why in our safe, welcoming preschool room, we offer a curriculum rich in interest-based opportunities for your little one to question, enquire, research and create. They’ll also participate in field trips and fun-filled programs that introduce the alphabet and early literacy; build social and emotional competencies; and foster digital exploration and creation.

Whether it’s putting together a special event for your family and whānau, or planning, researching and learning about a specific focus, your preschooler will discover how meaningful and joy-filled intentional learning can be. By the time our older preschoolers are preparing to leave our care for primary school, we ensure that our Transition to School program has provided them with those essential skills they need to guide them on the next exciting stage of their learning journey, setting them up for future educational success.

Our online portfolios, Educa, keep you updated on your child’s learning and development, and we encourage you to be actively involved every step of the way - whether sharing your special interests during mat time, or joining us on one of our many excursions

Your child will have a special celebration for them, when they turn 5 years old and we throw a ‘Happy Last Day’ celebration for them, and for all of the family, Kaiako, and friends who have played a role in their lives and time at Kindercare.

Our world of outdoor play

Time outside, space to move, and the opportunity to be physically active is integral to your child’s intellectual, social and physical development. That’s why we offer a safe, expansive outdoor playground, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, where your child can play, explore, discover and spend time with friends. Plentiful trees and shade ensure fun-filled space to play even in the hotter summer months.

A little about our team

Together, we can provide the best possible care and education for your child.
