Transition to School
Like you, we want the best for your child. So we don’t compromise on safe, supportive, care and education. Our team works hard to ensure your family receives the highest standard of care for your weekly fee, which includes:
- a generous annual leave allowance
- a nutritious midday meal, prepared fresh at the centre daily – so you won’t need to pack kai
- healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
- our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family
Every child has different needs, and that’s why we ask that you supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.
If you would like to learn more about our fees, enrolment schedules or space availability, please let us know. We’re happy to talk through any questions or provide whatever information you may need, to help you make the best decision for your child and your family.
What’s the first step?
We welcome you to come in and visit our small, relaxed centre. Here, you’ll meet our warm, friendly team, who are committed to being like extended family to your family and whānau. Because you and your child are at the heart of what we do. So why not give us a call, set up a time, and experience our safe, nurturing care and learning environment, for yourself.
Why choose our centre?
Providing safe, loving care and learning since 1990, our daycare centre is designed to care for your child from infancy until they are ready for primary school. Our team will gently guide and care for your child alongside tamariki of a similar age and stage of development, in our creative indoor and outdoor play and learning areas. Each environment is intentionally planned to provide the nurturing care, fun-filled learning and social opportunities to meet your child’s individual needs.
Our care and learning
At our childcare centre, you’ll find we integrate our core values - safe, loved and learning - into everything we do. Receiving nurturing care each day, in a multicultural environment that embraces diversity, your child will participate in a variety of fun-filled and challenging learning experiences that are specially designed for their age and stage of development.
We begin and end each day with a loving, predictable routine and unhurried interactions with your little one. It’s how we ensure a calm, low-stress environment where your precious child can thrive throughout their time with us.
And when it comes to your child’s learning, we provide a delightful play-based curriculum that helps them develop the foundation skills they’ll need for school. So your child will build capabilities while having heaps of fun with others in their age group. And because we understand the importance of self-worth and making friends, we place a special emphasis on social and emotional development through our ‘You Can Do It’ program and morning ‘Jump Jam’ ritual.
We also believe in building strong, supportive relationships with your family and whānau through enjoyable centre events, including theme days, family picnics, children’s performances and sports afternoons. These are great opportunities for you to chat with us, meet other parents, and simply have fun with your child at our centre. And you’ll be kept up to speed on your child’s learning through our regular parent evenings. At Kindercare, we’re committed to supporting your day-to-day parenting through our Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).
Kiwi Room (babies room)
Your precious baby deserves to feel safe and cherished in a warm, homely environment. And that’s exactly what you’ll discover in our beautiful room for your baby, where they will be nurtured by our passionate, loving Kaiako, who maintain a calming, predictable day to ensure your baby feels secure. They’ll do this by working with you to integrate your child’s home routine into their care, as closely as possible.
Tūī Room (toddlers room)
Nurturing your toddler’s growing curiosity and independence is foundational to their development, which is why we’ve designed this room to meet their needs in a safe, loving setting. In this room, your little one will have plenty of room to develop and grow in a calm, settled environment. This supports your child from the beginning, as we slowly transition them from the Kiwi Room. Our passionate Kaiako support your toddler’s growing autonomy through their expertise in this exciting stage of development, and a variety of creative learning opportunities. Your little one’s inquisitive mind will be captivated and challenged in our sensory-filled environment – with lots of affection and cuddles each day.
Pūkeko Room (preschool room)
We understand the importance of learning through play, making friends and being self-aware in the preschool years. And that’s why we created a safe, loving room to foster these skills for school, and for life. Here, your child will participate in our innovative ‘You Can Do It’ program, designed to help them build and develop their social, emotional and self-help competencies - while having heaps of fun.
Kōtuku Room (transition to school room)
Moving on to primary school is a big change in your preschooler’s learning journey, which is why we’ve designed a Transition to School Room to guide them every step of the way. As the final stage in our early learning adventure together, we support your little one in learning the foundation skills that enable them to start school with confidence and enthusiasm. We place a strong emphasis on building your child’s independence and love of learning, along with their social and emotional skills as we continue to weave our ‘You Can Do It’ program throughout the day. By the time we say ‘good-bye’ to your preschooler, they’ll have a smoother, more enjoyable transition to school ahead of them.
Our world of outdoor play
Movement – it’s at the heart of intellectual, social and physical development for tamariki. And that’s why it’s so important that your child has the opportunity to enjoy our safe, outdoor spaces where they can play, explore, and make discoveries with their friends. Physical activity grows their brain! So our playgrounds support your little one’s growth and learning, through each developmental stage.
A little about our team
At our early childhood centre, we’re much more than a team of experienced Kaiako who are passionate about keeping your child safe, loved and learning. We are committed to going that extra mile for your family and whānau, by taking the time to build strong relationships with you and your child. You’ll find that we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ approach to childcare and development. Our family partnerships help us ensure we’re providing the best possible care and education for your child’s individual needs.
We thrive on making a difference for your child and your family and whānau during these preschool years. We know how exciting they are, and how invested you are in your little one. So by working together, we will ensure this time is a fun and memorable one, for you and your child - as we help them to reach their full potential through outstanding early childhood care and education.
Because childcare is an enormous decision, we want to be there for your family and whānau, every step of the way. Come and visit us as many times as you need to, to get a good feel of what a day would look like for your child, at our centre.
Meet us, talk to us and help us to understand your needs better, so we can make the transition into our childcare centre a smooth and easy one. The early years of a child’s life are the most crucial ones - so, let us make these the best ones for your child and your family.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us, we will be very happy to discuss and guide you through this journey. We look forward to listening, contributing and being a part of your family and your child’s learning journey.
