Looking for childcare Mairangi Bay, daycare Mairangi Bay or preschool Mairangi Bay?

Our centre in Vega Place, off Constellation Drive, is in the dedicated and experienced hands of Rozanna Mene, our Centre Director.
It’s a warm and homely environment that you’ll be welcomed into at our centre in Mairangi Bay.

Here, nurturing a loving attachment with your child is our priority, as we build a close, trusting relationship with you.
Our partnership with parents is something that we value because it’s through strong connections that we’re able to support you, cherish your child and provide care that creates a memorable early childhood experience.
What We Offer
Heart-centred care, where time is taken for your child, so they know they matter. It’s knowing just how much children are absorbing verbally and non-verbally in the early years, that keeps us mindful of how important our ‘Care and Play’ curriculum is for your child.
That’s why we’ve created environments and an education program that enables your little one to play and have fun, whilst acquiring skills that are essential laying the foundations needed to prepare them for formal learning at primary school.
Families have choices at our centre: full or part time care for your baby, toddler or preschooler as well as Sessional Care for 3 and 4 year olds – with the option of either a morning or afternoon session, or a longer session (9am – 3pm) to prepare your older preschooler for their transition to school.
Our Excel Education program gives Teachers an innovative way to plan for each child, so that they intentionally notice, recognise and respond to your child.

When we notice what interests your child, teachers are able to recognise their unique needs and individual behaviour and then respond in a personal way.
Through play, your child will be involved in a range of activities (appropriate for each developmental stage), to build on and improve skills including: reflexes, vision, hearing, sensory awareness, spatial awareness, direction, midline, patterns, memory and visual discrimination.
Ensuring these critical foundations are laid in the early years, enables your child to achieve greater success in formal learning (literacy and numeracy), at school.
Did you know that when children are moving, the body is teaching the brain, which then lays down essential pathways for future learning? That’s why your child will benefit from our large outdoor spaces because they provide freedom for play and movement, which has such a positive impact on your child’s development.
One of the uniquely beneficial aspects of having your child in the care of our centre is our affiliation with “Moving Smart” and Gill Connell. Gill teaches us that “a moving child is a learning child” (Gill Connell, founder Moving Smart).
“Movement is at the very core of how children develop intellectually, emotionally, socially and, of course, physically. That’s why Moving Smart offers programs to foster children’s natural move-to-learn style, while helping parents and teachers to understand the comprehensive benefits of all that wiggling!” (Gill Connell)
Working closely alongside our Teachers, Gill’s professional development continually builds knowledge and offers new perspectives on the importance of repetition and daily movement.
As well as daily time outdoors for physical activity, play and exploration, our outdoor area has beautiful mature trees, a worm farm, vege garden and fruit trees.
Your child will be encouraged and given regular opportunities to be involved in planting and taking care of the gardens and trees, and cultivating the worm farm – all of which provide creative, real-life learning experiences for your little one.
Our online portfolios, Educa, are a favourite with our families because it gives parents current information and updates about what their child is learning, special moments in their day, and allows families to provide timely feedback and input into their child’s life at Kindercare.
In our homely, spacious Babies Room, you’ll find a nurturing team, dedicated to meeting the very special needs of these littlest ones, through consistent, respectful care.
In a calm, settled environment, your baby will be cherished, and responded to quickly which builds strong attachments and trust – so essential for your baby to feel safe in our care.
At this young age, our focus is on providing a "Care and Play" curriculum, so your baby benefits from gentle moments of care throughout the day, with learning and exploration woven into new experiences.
With freedom and space to move safely, our play curriculum enables your baby to investigate his/her world through tactile experiences, sensory exploration and soothing, unhurried interactions.
Your infant will be entrusted to a key Teacher, who will provide familiar assurance and consistent care because they’ll take the time to get to know you and your baby.
And when you’re not there to experience precious moments through the week, our individual Journals provide a valuable record and forum to share information between Kindercare and home and capture your child’s personal learning journey.
Energy, curiosity, growing independence, repetition, eagerness to learn – we understand toddlers.

That’s why, our team in the Toddlers room love working with this age group, and having the opportunity to implement a "Care and Play" curriculum in an environment that’s responsive to this stage of development.
Low ratios ensure your child will receive individual, responsive care and focused attention. Research tells us that smaller room sizes create a calmer atmosphere, which benefits your toddler as they begin mastering self-help skills and their emerging autonomy.
Keeping the routines flexible, the atmosphere relaxed and cultivating a spirit of playfulness ensures your child will have time and opportunity to explore and engage in activities of personal choice and interest – and so learning happens naturally through play.
As with every age group, our Teachers in the Toddler’s room make a priority to spend time with your child, chatting to them, building trust and fostering a loving, close connection – because relationships matter.
If you’re looking for an environment where your preschooler’s language development will be fostered and they’ll enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor play-based learning opportunities, you’ll find this in each of our Preschool rooms.
Letterland is a phonics program that introduces the alphabet in a fun and interactive way and our shared reading initiative enables you to link home with your preschooler’s centre life and learning.
“You Can Do It” is a fun, innovative program that develops your child’s social and emotional competence. Children are introduced to special character “puppets”, who all teach your child a particular life skill – like Connie Confidence, Pete Persistence, Ricky Resilience, Gabby Get-Along and Oscar Organisation.
Small, intimate project groups not only benefit your child’s learning on topics of interest to them, and teach them skills such as consultation, negotiation and assessment, they also support the establishment of positive friendships, and nurture a love of learning at a young age.
A safe and exciting introduction to the digital world is possible through our Cherry.bytes program. Working on iPads, under constant supervision of our specialist Cherry.bytes teachers, your child will use these as another learning tool – opening up a multi-media, interactive world of discovery where preschoolers are encouraged to be “passionately curious”. This weekly session is often the highlight of the children’s week!
Transition to School
Moving on to school is an exciting time as well as a time of change, sometimes accompanied by some apprehension. The better your child is prepared for this transition, the easier it is for them to settle into the primary school environment.
Two of our four Preschool rooms offer a dedicated Transition to School program. Integral to this curriculum is the ongoing focus on project work and enquiry-based learning, giving your child the opportunity to develop working theories that help them make sense of the material, social, natural and physical world.
There are also “small group times” – when teachers work with a few children to extend current project focusses and provide learning opportunities through hands-on, practical experiences.
In our Transition to School rooms, your child will be in the care of a skilled, Primary-trained Teacher, with the experience and knowledge to create and work with small, interactive extension groups, throughout the week.
Building a strong bond with your preschooler – through focused time and individual attention - is a priority. It’s within affectionate relationships that teachers are able to weave in pre-mathematics, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, all of which support your child’s growth and development and ensure they’re ready to say goodbye to their early childhood years and move on to school.
Our Team
We have a stable, close knit team, many of whom have been at the centre for more than 10 years. This longevity enables them to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their role.
Working in conjunction with you, we are committed to forming a deep, meaningful connection and bond with your child.
Our team develop a “Care and Play” curriculum and foster an environment that focusses on values, kindness, respect, learning through play, and encouraging the development of your child’s social skills.
Regular and ongoing professional development, both through Kindercare’s in-house workshops and through external experts (including international presenters), our staff are supported in their roles through new knowledge, skills and confidence to offer your child the best care and early education.
Recognising that you are your child’s first teacher, we believe it’s really important that we work with you and we encourage and support your contribution to your little one’s learning and development. This creates a meaningful connection between home life and centre life – which benefits your child by helping them to feel safe and settled in our care.
