Transition to School
Just like you, we want the best for your child. And that’s why we don’t compromise on safe, supportive, care and education. Our team works hard to ensure your family receives the highest standard of care for your weekly fee, which includes:
- a generous annual leave allowance
- a nutritious midday meal, prepared fresh at the centre daily – so you won’t need to pack kai
- healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
- our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family
We understand that every child has different needs, so we ask that you supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.
Please let us know if you would like to know more about our fees, enrolment schedules or space availability. We’re happy to talk through any questions or provide whatever information you may need, to help you make the best decision for your child and your family.
What’s the first step?
Well, we would love to show you around our safe, loving, environment, and give you a glimpse of all the fun in store for your child. So why not give us a call to arrange a visit, or just pop in for a chat when it works for you? And while you’re here, we want to hear all about your precious child, your aspirations for them, and how we can provide the best possible care and education for their individual needs.
Why choose our centre?
Providing safe, loving care and learning since 2001, our centre is designed to care for your child from infancy until they are ready for primary school. By joining us, you join our family. You will form part of our culture, and we’ll work with you to plan and make decisions about your child’s care and education, based on what’s important to your child, and your family and whānau.
Each fun-filled environment is intentionally planned to provide the nurturing care, creative learning and social opportunities best suited to your child’s individual needs. We also want to build a strong partnership with you, where you feel you belong and are supported. Because that’s what families do. And together, we’ll help your child reach their full potential.
Our care and learning
As New Zealand’s Education Review Office has stated, “Children's emotional wellbeing is nurtured through respectful interactions and through the celebration of their individuality and their successes. Carefully considered and managed transitions into and within the centre help tamariki to settle well, and enjoy learning."
That’s why we are committed to ensuring your child feels safe and loved at Kindercare Manurewa, and has plenty of fun-filled opportunities to learn and grow. This includes fostering your child’s all-important foundational skills through specialised planning, learning programs, and routines for each age and stage of development.
At our childcare centre, we celebrate not only your child’s achievements, but also their individuality and culture. We do this by celebrating a range of significant occasions during the year, including Christmas (with an end of year concert), Chinese New Year, Book Week, Easter, Mother’s Day, Matariki, Father’s Day, and Diwali.
Kiwi Room (babies room)
When it comes to your precious baby, we understand the importance of loving, responsive care and laying the foundation to support their future growth and development. And that’s exactly what you will find nurtured in this room. Here, your infant will thrive in a ‘home-away-from-home’ environment that is based around your child’s needs, age and stage of development. With their care and wellbeing coming first, your little one will also receive plenty of opportunities to develop and learn, through exploring and responding to the nurturing care of our experienced Kaiako.
Tūī Room (toddlers room)
We believe your toddler deserves a safe, loving learning environment that nurtures their growing energy, curiosity and independence. That’s why this is ‘the place’ for your child. Here, along with lots of affectionate interactions and conversations, your little one will participate in a meaningful curriculum that encourages learning through enjoyable activities based on their needs. Nurtured by the loving support of our experienced Kaiako, your little one will also be given opportunities to develop their self-help skills and autonomy.
Pūkeko Room (preschool room)
We understand how important it is for your preschooler to socialise and make friends, develop their confidence and explore their interests. In the safe, loving and innovative atmosphere of our preschool room, your child will participate in a variety of interest-based learning experiences, both indoors and outside. These will help to strengthen your child’s social, emotional and self-help skills, extend their physical competence and support their ongoing cognitive development. All while having heaps of fun.
Takahē Room (preschool and transition to school room)
We understand that moving on to primary school is a big step for any preschooler and their family. That’s the reason why we offer an exciting and intentionally planned Transition to School program, to ensure a smooth transition for your child. They will participate in a number of fun-filled programs that prepare them for school by fostering important skills including early literacy and numeracy – plus the foundational development of self-care, independence, and social/emotional competencies because we want your preschooler to succeed at school and in their future.
Our world of outdoor play
Active movement is critical for your child’s social, intellectual, and physical development. That’s why we offer safe, interesting outdoor spaces where your child can play, explore, discover, experiment and make friends through physical activity. Some time is spent outside each day, whenever it is possible.
A little about our team
When it comes to finding safe, loving care and learning, and a nurturing, experienced team who will guide your child’s learning and development, we understand you only want the best for your child. And we know that’s what you’ll love about our team at Kindercare Manurewa, who will partner with you, every step of the way. Look no further…you’ve found passionate, dedicated Kaiako.
And their commitment to undergoing continuous professional development is peace of mind for you that they will continue to provide outstanding care and education for your little one.
Our team also believe in building strong relationships with you, to make sure they are meeting your child’s individual needs. They listen to you and work hard to keep you updated about your child’s progress frequently. We believe it’s important that you have a sense of inclusion so you’ll be invited to attend parent workshops and excursions, and our Kaiako will share their current knowledge of early childhood care and education with you. Your input into our program is encouraged and welcomed, at any time.
It’s our team’s way of giving you and your child that invaluable sense of belonging at our daycare centre, while linking our program and care to your home, because both environments are essential to help your child reach their full potential.
We are happy for parents, families and whānau to pop in at any time during the day to visit us. And we really encourage you to bring your child with you, so we can meet them and introduce them to Kindercare. We’ll make time to show you around the centre so you can experience for yourself an environment where children are safe, loved and learning.
