Fees

Like you, we want the best for your child. So we don’t compromise on safe, supportive, care and education. Our team works hard to ensure your family receives the highest standard of care for your weekly fee, which includes:

  • a generous annual leave allowance
  • a nutritious midday meal, prepared fresh at the centre daily – so you won’t need to pack kai
  • healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
  • our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family

Because every child has different needs, we ask that you supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.

Questions?

If you would like to learn more about our fees, enrolment schedules or space availability, please let us know. We’re happy to talk though any questions or provide whatever information you may need, to help you make the best decision for your child and your family.

What’s the first step?

Simply give us a call, and let’s set up a time for you to come in for a visit. In fact, bring your family - your child and whānau - to meet our family. We’d love to show you why families just like yours choose our daycare centre. The more time you spend with us, the more you’ll appreciate the value we place on personalising our relationships with families, and the partnerships we have built within our local community for more than three decades.

Why choose our centre?

Nestled on the border of Farm Cove, Pakuranga and Half Moon Bay, we’ve been a trusted local childcare centre since 1984. With beautiful, expansive outdoor areas that are specially designed to spark your child’s curiosity and learning and intentionally created indoor spaces, your child will be nurtured from infancy through to the time they’re ready to leave us for primary school. Protected and having fun in our gentle, loving care, you’ll find that Kindercare Pakuranga is committed to developing your child’s incredible potential. We look forward to partnering with you to achieve every aspiration you have for your child, and more.

Our care and learning

At Kindercare Half Moon Bay, your little one will be cherished, respected and treated as an individual for as long as they’re in our relaxed, welcoming care. We will ensure your child is being nourished and ‘refuelled’ with our nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day.

Our fun-filled educational curriculum is specially designed around your child’s interests and needs, with innovative programs to extend their learning through discovery. For example, our Cherry.bytes program is one of the many learning tools we use to introduce your child to digital technology in a safe, innovative way.

No matter what age or stage of development your child is, we’ll be partnering with you every step of the way so you are involved in their care, education, growth and development. We keep in touch with you through our daily chats and our online platform, Educa. This is where you can view and contribute to your child’s portfolio as well as keep up to date with news, updates and other important centre information on our online message board for families and whānau.

Finally, we want you to know that we are here to support you, too because you are your child’s first and most important Teacher. We want our care to support you, so you can share in the joy of simply being a family. That’s why we offer parenting guidance if needed, through our Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).

Kiwi Room (babies room)

If you want your baby to be cherished in a safe, loving environment, designed around their individual age and stage of development, we will do that for you. In their own dedicated area, infants who aren’t yet mobile will be gently nurtured by one consistent Teacher, who will work with you to integrate your baby’s home routine as closely as possible, so that your pēpi develops that essential sense of security, allowing them to thrive in our care.

And once your little one is on the move, we’ll transition them into a larger area with other babies at their stage of development. Settled in a peaceful, calm environment, we’ll respond to and guide your little one as they begin to develop their independence through sensory rich experiences. You won’t miss out on your baby’s journey, either because we document all of their special moments in a daily journal we’ll share with you.

As time outdoors is so important for these youngest little ones in our care, we offer a playground, just for them, where they have freedom to move and explore, safely.

Equally important for babies, is good, restful sleep. So we have a cozy sleep area for naps and longer periods of sleep, depending on your child’s needs and routine. And when they wake, we’ll be there with a reassuring cuddle!

Tūī Room (toddlers room)

This is an age when children are frequently really active and enjoy a slightly more challenging environment to explore. That’s why we plan both our indoor and outdoor areas to foster your toddler’s innate curiosity and growing need for independence, while fostering their foundation skills.

Learning is play-based and focused primarily on the development of social and emotional skills, language and gross motor skills. We recognise how important it is for the tamariki to be given the opportunity to make their own choices. They enjoy time outdoors and love the slide and wonderful sandpit!

Toilet training is something that is encouraged, before your child moves up to the preschool room so we work with you on the timing of this – so that this is done at your toddler’s pace and with continuity between centre and home.

Pūkeko Room and Kākāpō Rooms (preschool rooms)

As a preschooler, we’ll continue to develop your child’s foundation skills, and extend their natural interests, in our fun-filled preschool rooms. Here, we continue their social and emotional development through our ‘You Can Do It’ program. Through conversations and activities, we’ll also guide their learning in skills essential for formal learning, and for life. These include how to get along with others, and not give up when things become a little difficult.

And your child won’t miss out on building physical and social competence, through daily opportunities to play outside in our expansive outdoor play area. The tamariki love our park-like wonderland which includes swings; slides; a cubby house; a tree house; a bike track; and a tree-sheltered water play area.

Takahē and Kōtuku Rooms (transition to school rooms)

As your child approaches primary school, we want you to have peace of mind that they’ll be ready for life beyond our care and learning. That’s why our transition to school rooms are dedicated to helping your child achieve the smoothest possible transition into formal learning. So, we maintain regular communication with the local kura to ensure we’re providing a curriculum that is current and aligned with their learning environment.

Through our fun-filled programs, your preschooler will be gaining early numeracy and early literacy skills, as well as ongoing weekly Cherry.bytes sessions, incorporating digital technology and audio/visual learning.

Because, like you, we want your precious child to have the self-confidence they need to ensure their transition to primary school is an exciting and successful one.

Our world of outdoor play

Because movement is so essential for your child’s intellectual, social and physical development, we create outdoor play spaces that open up a world of possibilities for children to explore, make discoveries, and support sharing and friendships through physical activity.

A little about our team

At Kindercare Half Moon Bay, our team of experienced, skilled early childhood Kaiako are committed to providing the best possible care and learning for your child. They do this by taking the time to observe and get to know your child’s individual strengths, needs and interests. This knowledge and understanding enables them to then plan creatively to respond to your child, and achieve the best outcomes for them, that help your son or daughter reach their full potential.
