Transition to School
Like you, we want the best for your child. So we don’t compromise on safe, supportive, care and education. Our team works hard to ensure your family receives the highest standard of care for your weekly fee, which includes:
- a generous annual leave allowance
- a nutritious midday meal, prepared fresh at the centre daily – so you won’t need to pack kai
- healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks to fuel your child’s play and learning
- our Positive Parenting program – offering tips, advice and support for every family
Because every child has different needs, we ask that you supply your child’s own bottles, formula and nappies for each day.
If you would like to learn more about our fees, enrolment schedules or space availability, please let us know. We’re happy to talk through any questions or provide whatever information you may need, to help you make the best decision for your child and your family and whānau.
What’s the first step?
We warmly invite you to come and visit our centre. Here, you’ll discover a world where our precious tamariki are kept safe, loved and learning. And it’s all thanks to our wonderful, devoted team who believe in respecting the culture and beliefs of family and whānau.
Why choose our centre?
From the moment you and your child walk through our doors, you’ll realise there’s no place like our ‘home-away-from-home’. Once a beautiful character house, our daycare centre will embrace your family as part of our own.
Our expansive outdoor area has the relaxed, inviting feel of your child’s own backyard - with plenty of room to play, explore and make natural discoveries among our established trees and greenery.
Since 2004, our homely centre on Puriri Street has lovingly supported tamariki from infancy until they are ready for primary school. Here, your little one will spend time in care and learning environments that are specially designed for their age and stage of development.
Our care and learning
At our early childhood centre, love and respect lay the foundation for our care and learning. In other words, we engage your child in sincere conversations and ask lots of questions, while ensuring Te Reo Māori and waiata are woven into their daily play and educational activities.
And because social and emotional skills are essential throughout your child’s life, we weave our specialised ‘You Can Do It’ program into their daily learning, conversations and interactions. This will help your child build grit and determination; love and kindness; and empathy and compassion.
Kiwi Room (babies room)
In our Kiwi Room, love, care and safety are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we look after no more than 12 children in this room - so that we’re able to give your infant attentive, responsive and nurturing care to meet their needs.
Our committed Kaiako are there to support their development through affectionate interactions, and daily opportunities to explore and engage in fun-filled experiences. It’s our way of giving your precious baby the best start during their early years. We want family and whānau to know that you will be a part of the journey, so you and your little one are ready when the time comes to transition into our Tūī Room.
Tūī Room (toddlers room)
We understand just how active your child is when they reach toddlerhood. That’s why this room is designed to embrace all of the energetic exploring, navigating, creating and having fun that makes this such an exciting stage of development.
Seamlessly flowing into our vibrant outdoor area, your child will enjoy the freedom to explore our learning resources, play equipment and creative setups each day. All of this, with the reassurance that our nurturing Kaiako are by their side to support and guide them through every new step of their journey.
Pūkeko Room (preschool and transition to school room)
As your capable child grows, it is our privilege to nurture them into confident, capable learners, by continuing to foster their social and emotional development. Our “You Can Do It” program is a fun way for tamariki to develop skills like resilience, persistence, organisation, self-confidence and ability to get along with others.
We’ll also familiarise your little one with their future school setting through our Transition to School program, which includes visits to our local primary schools, and weekly ‘lunch box days’. These guide your child through the school lunch experience by showing them how to manage and unwrap a packed lunch from Kindercare. We want to ensure we’ve lovingly prepared your child so they’re ready to head off to school.
Our world of outdoor play
Our safe, expansive outdoor play area will make your child feel just like being in their own backyard! Surrounded by trees and the beauty of nature, it’s the perfect place for tamariki to play, explore and spend time having fun with friends, while being physically active, which is so essential to your child’s overall growth and development.
A little about our team
At our daycare centre, our passionate team recognise the importance of building strong, loving relationships with your child, and your family and whānau. We value you. And you’ll see this as we genuinely take the time to get to know the real you, while offering kindness, care, love and support, as you navigate your way through parenthood.
We are committed to genuine partnership with you, and making time to korero with you. Like you, we know your child needs our time, attention, space and resources to be their best ‘self’. And there’s heaps of fun and cuddles, every day because at our centre, we live our core values - safe, loved and learning.
We know that once you step in through our door, you and your precious child will feel what we all feel: a calm, caring environment filled with love and laughter; where each child is cherished and celebrated for their own amazing uniqueness. Come in and meet us.
